Overview

Why we recommend Waldorf Astoria Riviera Maya

Waldorf Astoria's first resort in the Mexican Caribbean opened in 2022 on about 100 acres of coast and mangrove just south of Cancún International Airport. All 173 rooms and suites face the ocean, each with a private balcony, and a Personal Concierge starts planning with you before you arrive.

Since October 1, 2026 the resort is all-inclusive, with chef-led restaurants such as Malpeque and Ja'o, premium drinks, gratuities and taxes included. From January 10, 2027 it becomes adults-only for guests 18 and over — an important detail when choosing your dates.

FAQ

Questions about Waldorf Astoria Riviera Maya

Answers from the resort's official information. Policies can change — we re-check them for your dates.

Is Waldorf Astoria Riviera Maya all-inclusive?

Yes, since October 1, 2026. The rate covers meals at participating restaurants, premium drinks, 24-hour in-room dining, a daily minibar, curated experiences, a Personal Concierge, gratuities and taxes. Select dishes and drinks, private dining, special events and spa treatments may be extra.

Can I bring children?

Children are welcome on stays that end before January 10, 2027, with a nightly extra-guest charge. From that date the resort is adults-only, and every guest must be 18 or older at check-in.

Is it in the Cancún Hotel Zone?

No. The resort sits on the coast just south of Cancún International Airport, among mangroves and beside Hilton Cancun. The airport is about 10–30 minutes away by road.

Are airport transfers included?

Only for eligible stays of four or more nights booked through Hilton channels or a GDS. Travel advisor, resident and several other rates are excluded, so a private transfer is usually arranged separately for those bookings.

Is there a golf course at the resort?

No. Guests enjoy preferred access to El Tinto Golf Course at Cancun Country Club, with concierge booking and coordinated transport. Rounds at PGA Riviera Maya, about an hour away, can also be arranged.

Do all rooms have a private pool?

Not every room. Upper-floor rooms and suites have balconies with soaking tubs, and ground-floor swim-up categories open directly onto the pool. The Ocean Front Swim up Master Corner Suite and the Ocean Front 2 Bedroom Presidential Suite have their own pools.

What restaurants are there?

Five venues: Malpeque (open-fire seafood), Ja'o (contemporary Mexican cantina), Chaya (all-day seasonal kitchen), Peacock Alley (lobby lounge) and Manta Azul (pool bar). Meals at participating restaurants are included in the all-inclusive rate.
